I just wanted to congratulate Barack Obama on a great victory in Iowa, and to wish him luck tomorrow in New Hampshire. Mr. Obama's success demonstrates that even in the face of overwhelming odds someone with a great message and conviction for change can succeed. This idea needs to also be applied on the local level and our upcoming County Board race...out with the broken old system and in with a new one full of hope and prosperity.

It is time for change. Whether Democratic or Republican, this country needs to stop self destructive practices abroad, re-stablish the purity of our constitution and treat our own countymen as we would ourselves.

I'm sure it starts at the local level and I'm sure Dr. McTague will help lead McHenry out of the Dark Ages and into the current climate of our times.

I agree that it is time for a change. Our country finds itself in danger of losing its civil liberties and moral authority…even further. Every day our leaders continue with their self interests rather than representing the population that elected them. This country has slipped into a plutocracy (government by and for the wealthy). It has been quoted many times that “all politics are local.” I invite you and your friends to support a populist progressive movement here in McHenry County to disrupt the local oligarchy (government by tiny elite) and support my candidacy for the County Board here in District 1. Thank you for your comments and for your interest in restoring the honor of our democracy and the pride of its countrymen.
